AT&T Internet Prices

The history of AT&T dates back to the invention of the telephone itself. Today, the company keeps up with the industry by buying other companies, adding new services, and revamping its lineup.

AT&T currently has tens of millions of customers and is in the top three in almost everything that it offers. It continues to attract more customers by offering low monthly costs along with attractive bundles and promotions.

To top it off, AT&T boasts truly impressive Internet speeds with their fiber-optics technology. Combine that with a set of reasonable prices and you have yourself an excellent internet provider.

AT&T Internet Cost

AT&T has a quite noble approach to initial expenses. In most cases, it waives a one-time setup fee of $99. On top of the waived setup fee, you’ll also get $100 to $150 worth of equipment like your router, cables and so on.

The full monthly prices of AT&T’s plans range from $50 to $100 dollars, depending on your particular service. Note that signing a 12-month contract with the company in order to use AT&T Internet service will reduce the price for $10 per month. If you happen to terminate your contract earlier, you may have to pay a fee (prorated ETF ($180) and Equipment Non-Return fees apply).

Finally, a $35 activation fee is waived for online orders, after which you’re ready to use AT&T’s powerful internet connection. Adding it all together, your first month’s bill will cost “you pay what you see,” that is the monthly price of your Internet package, plus taxes.

AT&T Internet Plans and Their Prices

One of AT&T’s most prominent features is that it offers more value for the money than most of its competitors. You can have an ultra-fast fiber connection for $50 to $90 a month or get even better deals with bundles. That’s what makes AT&T Internet prices attractive.

However, there is a big difference between AT&T’s fiber and DSL plans in terms of speed. Also, AT&T Internet speeds are within pricing tiers. Users receive the best internet speeds in each tier, depending on what’s available in their area. For example, speeds like 50, 75 or 100 Mbps may come at the same price. A customer will always get the highest Internet speed available.

Furthermore, all of AT&T’s plans have a data cap of 1TB, except the 1000 Mbps fiber plan which has unlimited data. But you needn’t worry about going over even if you have a family of active internet users. They would have to download 350 hours of HD video to expend an entire month’s allowance. In addition, bundling AT&T Internet with other services, like TV, will remove the data cap for all internet plans.

Nonetheless, if you watch a lot of movies and play games online, you might want to keep tabs on your account. If you use more than 1TB, it will cost you $10 for each 50GB of overage with a limit of $100. In a sense, it is possible to make all AT&T internet plans unlimited – as already mentioned – by bundling it with the TV service like DIRECTV or U-verse TV.

With that said, you can choose from the following plans:

Fiber Internet Plans

The only way to comprehend what it’s like to use the internet at 1000 Mbps is if you can experience it firsthand. For example, you can download a 2 hour HD movie in less than 30 seconds and a 1 GB file in less than 9 seconds. Everything happens almost instantaneously.

To top it off, AT&T’s fiber plans are same or cheaper than its competitors. For example, Comcast XFINITY’s 100 Mbps connection is $49.99 a month.

The four AT&T Fiber internet plans are as follows:

  • 100 Mbps – $50/mo.
  • 300 Mbps – $70/mo.
  • 500 Mbps – $90/mo.
  • 1,000 Mbps – $90/mo.

As mentioned, all plans except Internet 1000 have a  1TB data cap. Only the 1000 Mbps plan comes with unlimited data. Bundling those Internet plans with other AT&T services like TV or/and phone will create an additional discount, and the prices of Internet will be reduced for $10 per month. Below are some examples of how the pricing looks when AT&T Internet is bundled with TV service.

DSL Internet Plans

If AT&T Fiber is not available in your area, you can still get some decent deals and enjoy a reliable internet connection. Any connection above 25 Mbps is more than enough for an average internet user.

Essentially, there are two pricing packages with AT&T DSL Internet:

  • Internet Basic 5 – $40/mo. – 5 Mbps
  • Internet 50 to Internet 100 – $50/mo. – 50 to 100 Mbps

For the second group, the Internet connection speed will vary depending on the area of service. AT&T will always offer the highest speed possible.

Bundles: Internet + TV and Internet + TV + Phone

If you’re looking for a TV and home phone service, AT&T has some outstanding offers for you. Subscribing to bundles of services reflects a sizable discount over signing up for each individual component separately. In addition, you’ll also have the 1TB data cap removed from your Internet plans. When bundling AT&T Internet with the TV, there is a choice of DIRECTV and U-verse TV. DIRECTV is a satellite TV service, while U-verse TV is Internet based TV service, IPTV.
